I don’t know why I’ve always been so against eating Campbell’s soup, which was probably the first thing I ever cooked as an adult. (The cookies I helped my mom make when I was a kid are a different, and far more delicious story.) Unless I’m sick, I will willingly eat almost anything else in order to avoid it. What I need to accept is there’s a reason Campbell’s soup is such an iconic symbol of America, and that reason is it gives you a decent meal at excellent value. For a couple of dollars, you can pick more or less any kind of food you want and get a reasonably healthy dinner. I had some pasta with spicy sausages and then a bowl of tomato soup.
