Fried, crispy wasabi wontons cooked in a lot of oil, with green beans and potato chips. I cleared out everything from the backyard, taking in the grill and the outdoor table for the winter. A strip of land parallel to the backyard fence where I tried to plant sunflowers last year has given over to six-foot weeds and wild kale. I spent a few hours trimming the invasive growth and using my serviceable electric rototiller to break up the soil, adding compost to get it ready for a perennial garden next year. Next to the fig tree I cleared another space where there will be blueberry and raspberry bushes.
