We met a friend for lunch at a taco restaurant in Park Slope where they smothered my enchiladas in mole poblano, and then, because it was cold outside, we walked into the Brooklyn Public Library, where the entrance is decorated with bronze figures of Peter Rabbit, Moby Dick, Babe the Blue Ox, and others. For dinner we went to Piccola Cucina, a Sicilian restaurant which allotted about three feet behind the bar for kitchen space, with food prepared on electric burners and clips from The Godfather playing on the background TV, and we had the pasta with calamari and mussels, and fresh cannoli.
