We went to see Hamilton and after so much time spent in anticipation, it was a little much to finally see the stage outfitted with nautical ropes and the middle-aged women in the audience looking like it was Christmas. I walked out of the theater feeling like I’d been shot, though I mean that in a good way. Later we wandered around the city streets and ended up at Amelie, a French restaurant in the West Village, where I ordered a coq au vin. We made our way to a piano bar where we were lucky enough to hear talented performers of Broadway musical numbers in a venue that certainly would not have been their first choice.
